Term Life Insurance, Sized To Protect The Legacy You're Building

Most people either skip life insurance entirely or buy far more (or less) cover than they need, because nobody sat down and did the maths. We do that maths — for families in Hyderabad, across Telangana, and for NRI clients supporting parents and dependents back home.

Why a Term Plan, and Why the Amount Matters

A pure term insurance plan is, rupee for rupee, the most efficient way to protect your family's income if something happens to you. But the sum insured is where most policies go wrong — bought on a round number that sounded reasonable at the time, rather than calculated from your actual liabilities, dependents, and cost of living in a city like Hyderabad.

We use the income replacement method: how many years of your income would your family need replaced, what outstanding loans (home loan, for instance, if you've bought property in areas like Kondapur or Kokapet) need to be cleared, and what future costs — a child's education, a wedding — still need funding. That gives us a real number, not a guess.

A Hyderabad Wealth Practice, Available Wherever You Are

Term life insurance is one of the areas where our NRI clients most often reach out — typically after a milestone like buying their first home, having a child, or simply realising their existing employer-provided cover (if any) disappears the moment they change jobs. Whether you're calling from Hyderabad or from another time zone entirely, the process is the same: a conversation about your actual financial picture, a recommendation, and ongoing support if your circumstances change.

A Common Mistake We Help Fix

Buying a term plan once, early in a career, and never revisiting it. A cover amount that made sense at 26 with no dependents often looks thin at 38 with a home loan and two children. We recommend a review every few years, not just at purchase.

Life Insurance FAQs

Straight answers to what people most often ask us about term plans and life cover.

How much life cover do I need?
A widely used rule of thumb is 10–15 times your annual income, adjusted for outstanding loans (like a home loan) and how many years of expenses your family would need to cover. We work out a specific number based on your actual liabilities and goals rather than a generic multiple.
Term insurance or a traditional/endowment plan — what's the difference?
Term insurance is pure protection: a large cover at a low premium, with no maturity payout if you outlive the term. Traditional and endowment plans combine a smaller amount of cover with an investment component, at a much higher premium. For most people, buying term insurance and investing the difference separately (e.g. in mutual funds) works out more efficient — we can walk you through the actual numbers.
At what age should I buy life insurance?
As early as possible, ideally once you have any financial dependents. Premiums are locked in largely based on your age and health at the time of purchase, so buying in your late 20s or early 30s typically secures a much lower rate for the same cover than waiting until your 40s.
Will pre-existing health conditions affect my life insurance premium or eligibility?
Yes, insurers factor in your health history, and some conditions may mean a higher premium, a health-based exclusion, or (rarely) a decline. Disclosing your medical history accurately at the time of application is essential — an inaccurate disclosure can lead to a claim being rejected later.
Do I need life insurance if I'm unmarried with no dependents?
It's less urgent, but buying a policy while young and healthy locks in a low premium for decades, and life circumstances (marriage, a home loan, children) often arrive faster than expected. Many people choose to start a modest term policy early rather than wait.
How does the claim process work for my family after I'm gone?
Your nominee submits a claim form along with the policy document, a death certificate and identity proof to the insurer, who investigates and settles the claim — typically within 30 days for straightforward claims. We help families through this process directly when the time comes, so they're not navigating it alone.
